The casseroles stop. The grief does not.
In the first weeks there are calls, visits, and cards. Then the world goes back to normal and expects you to come with it. You may feel pressure to look strong, to reassure everyone that you are fine, to stop saying their name because it makes people uncomfortable.
Grief is common, and it is still lonely. In a national survey by WebMD, nearly three quarters of adults had grieved a loss in the past three years. In the same survey, being told to move on or find closure made things worse for 42 percent of people and helped only 16 percent.
We will never tell you to move on. Grief is simply love remembering, and there is no deadline on it.
What we offer is a place to say their name out loud, people who understand, practical tools, and hope that does not dismiss your pain.
Our community
Circles, workshops, and community walks, side by side with the people we serve.

Founded by a mother who has walked this road
Dr. Tracy J. Dancy is the mother of Jasmine Shevalle Dancy, who died at seven, and Shanyai Emani Dancy, who died by suicide at nineteen. She remembers what she needed in those years: a place to be honest, genuine understanding, and someone to remind her she was not the only one.
Soaring on Angels’ Wings® carries her daughters’ names forward, with patience instead of pressure.
Read Our StoryGood questions
Does grief support at Soaring on Angels’ Wings® cost anything?
Our nonprofit programs, including Community Healing Circles, workshops, one-on-one grief support, and the Family Assistance Fund, are offered at no cost to participants when funding is available. Grants, donations, and sponsors help make them possible. Organizations that request a private workshop or presentation may be quoted a program fee.
Who can attend a Healing Circle?
Adults grieving the death of a loved one, whatever the relationship and however the death happened. Parents, siblings, spouses, caregivers, and friends sit in the same circle. Registration is required because seats are limited.
Do I have to be a Christian?
No. Soaring on Angels’ Wings® has a Christian foundation, and everyone is welcome regardless of faith or background. Faith enters the conversation only when you bring it.
What happens at a first Healing Circle?
You are welcomed, you listen, and you take part at your own comfort level. There is guided conversation, a remembrance activity, grief education, and time to connect. You are never required to share anything.
Is this counseling or therapy?
No. We provide grief support, education, and resource navigation, and we connect people with counselors and community resources when that is the better fit.
How do I donate?
Through our secure Zeffy page, one time or monthly. Soaring on Angels’ Wings® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donate
