Private grief support
Sometimes You Need One Person Who Will Just Listen.
One-on-One Grief Support is a private conversation with Dr. Tracy J. Dancy: a place to talk about your grief, name what you need, and find coping strategies and resources that fit your life. No cost when funding and availability permit.

What to expect
A Conversation, Not an Assessment
You will not be handed a worksheet and a timeline. You will be asked what happened, if you want to tell it, and what the hardest part is right now. Together you will look at your emotional and practical needs, explore healthy ways to cope, and gather grief resources you can actually use.
Faith is part of the conversation only when you want it to be. Dr. Tracy holds a PhD in Christian Counseling and welcomes people of every faith and of none.
How it works
From Request to First Conversation
- Send a request. Use the Request Support form and choose "One-on-one grief support."
- Hear back within three to five business days. Dr. Tracy responds personally and may schedule a brief 15 to 30 minute check-in to understand what you need.
- Meet. The first session is usually scheduled within one to two weeks of that conversation. Sessions last 45 to 60 minutes, in person or online.
- Decide together what comes next. Support may be one session or a short series, depending on your needs, availability, and program funding.

If a Counselor Is the Right Next Step, We Will Say So
One-on-One Grief Support is not counseling or therapy, and it does not replace either. When a licensed counselor, a support group for a specific kind of loss, or another community resource would serve you better, Dr. Tracy will connect you with one.
